We have a dream……………..
It’s a dream of environmental and economic sustainable development for the indigenous communities of Cape York by utilising the traditional lands and property as a green power resource.
In the next 10 to 20 years the fossil fuels of the 20th century are going to have to be replaced by “green fuels” that is fuels that are carbon neutral by not omitting any carbon into the atmosphere. The British government has recently set their own CO2 emission reduction targets at 60% of 1990 levels and has passed a law that ensures that successive governments must abide by binding targets that have been set by a previous government or the government themselves would be in breach of their own parliamentary law.
FNQU believe that other governments of the world will have to follow this path as climate change becomes an ever more poignant political issue.
The shadow federal labour government has clearly indicated that these sorts of reductions are something that they will be pushing for if elected to government in the next general election.
The 20th century combustion engine will be replaced with a “green” alternative. After studding the trends in technologies well respected futurists like James Canton, the CEO of the Institute for global futures have good reason to believe that the technology that will drive this move will be in the supply hydrogen fuel cells for use in the home and car as an alternative to oil and coal. Hydrogen can be made by any energy generation source, petrol, coal or gas, or a carbon neutral source of energy like solar and wind and nuclear power.
We want it to come from solar energy, or more specifically solar and wind installations run and developed by the people of Cape York.
Therefore our wish is to partner with the local communities of Cape York to provide jobs for local people to help bring Cape York from being a “developing nation” economy into being sustainable economy through development of skills and industry. |
